PIPA/SOPA

While I agree that the piracy on the internet is out of control (though I do sympathize with the people whole think things are overpriced so they get it free through a torrent instead of buying it), it's out of control. However, I think that PIPA and SOPA are not the answer. They're overkill. I see it this way, in an analogy. There's a wild pig running around, destroying gardens and maybe even threatening people. Instead of going after the wild pig, the authorities decide that every pig needs to be destroyed because of that one.

If you think that these bills won't affect you, you're wrong. If they are passed, we can kiss YouTube (and similar sites) goodbye. Social Media will also be severely restricted, if not entirely wiped out. Online gaming (which does not affect everyone, but there are a lot of us) will also be negatively affected. And last, but certainly not least, Web TV will be destroyed as an industry. I don't know about you, but I like a lot of the Web TV shows I've seen. They're creative, fun, and (most importantly) something other than the cookie cutter shows that are on Cable/Satellite TV.
